When the Nintendo Switch launched, it was one of the most bare-bone consoles ever. The system had a few games, and it didn’t even have any streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube. The 3DS and Wii U had those apps. Nintendo promised we would see streaming apps and it seems like that promise is not a lie.

Hulu press revealed Nintendo Switch’s first video streaming app has been released. Hulu (with live TV) is the first US  streaming service to be released on the Switch. Right now gamers are able to download the Hulu app from the Nintendo Switch store and watch some movies. Switch owners will be able to watch on demand in Hulu or watch Hulu live TV. Hulu live TV includes 50 of the biggest channels in the USA including CNN, Fox Sports, ESPN, and more. Unfortunately, we have no information about Netflix on the Switch. Helu’s release on the Switch might mean other streaming apps might be released for the Switch.

A long time ago a streaming app was released for the Switch Japan only. The app was called Nikoniko, and it showed Japenese shows such as Love Lab. All other consoles (even other Nintendo consoles) have video streaming apps, but for an unknown reason the Switch didn’t have any streaming apps, Hulu is Switch first streaming app in the USA. Right now Hulu costs $5.99 per month, and first-time users will get a 1-month free trial, but that’s a limited offer after the offer Hulu will cost $7.99 per month. Hulu has mostly adult shows such as Family Guy, Fear the walking dead, and more. It has some kid shows too such as the Power Puff Girls.
