This month all the talk has been about EA and Star Wars Battlefront 2. Gamers were very mad at EA for making Star Wars Battlefront 2 a pay to win so we didn’t see a lot of news about Need for Speed Payback. Need for Speed Payback has been criticised for pay to win, horrible performance, and more. Overall this month wasn’t the best month for EA, and the loot box controversy even caught the Belgium government’s attention and loot boxes that affect gameplay might get banned because the Belguin government says they are gambling. The controversy caught Hawaii’s attention too. These news made gamers very happy because almost no gamer likes microtransactions in triple-A games. CD Projekt Red (Witcher 3’s developer) said there future game Cyberpunk 2077 will not have any microtransactions and that comment made gamers pretty happy.
Need for Speed Payback’s new update decreases the time it takes to refresh the parts in tune-up shops. The time is down from 30 minutes to 10 minutes. Completing any bait crates and roaming racers tasks will give you more money and more REP. The increases will help gamers get more cars and getting parts a lot faster so with the new updates gamers might not need to buy microtransactions to progress in the game. Ranked Speedlists will give you extra parts. If you win the Speedlists, you will get a new part, and you will be rewarded more frequently for playing the Speedlist. With the new update, Air Suspension will be found a lot more. These changes do make gamers happy, but gamers want microtransactions to be removed or only give items that don’t affect gameplay. If the Belgium government’s research shows that loot boxes are gambling companies such as EA will need to get a gambling license for their games (Star Wars Battlefront 2, Need for Speed Payback, ETC.)
