AMD Navi GPUs can Outperform Competing RTX GPUs | Zen 2 Loses to Intel Coffe Lake in Gaming Benchmarks
AMD Zen 2’s Not Doing Too Hot in Gaming Benchmarks

Right now the gaming market is controlled by NVIDIA RTX GPUs and Intel Coffe Lake CPUs as last-gen AMD hardware had a really hard time catching up to the competition in gaming benchmarks. AMD Zen 2 and Navi were rumored to be revelutionary for the gaming market but, now that we have gotten our benchmarks we can see that Zen 2 isn’t even able to outperform the Intel Coffe Lake last-gen CPUs but, AMD Navi is able to outperform the competing RTX SUPER GPUs in gaming benchmarks.
AMD Zen 2 vs Intel Coffe Lake Benchmarks
In most gaming benchmarks which you can see below, AMD Zen 2 doesn’t perform that well when you compare it to the competing Intel Coffe Lake CPUs in gaming benchmarks. The Intel CPUs consistently outperform AMD Zen 2’s competing CPUs in gaming benchmarks. In basically all of the major games, Intel Coffe Lake will perform way better or deliver the same amount of performance as the competing AMD Zen 2 CPUs. Things don’t look good for AMD because if Intel releases new CPUs or applies price cuts to their current CPUs, AMD Zen 2 wouldn’t stand much of a chance. Of course, AMD Zen 2 performs a lot better than Intel in productivity work but, we’re talking about gaming right now.

AMD Navi Beats NVIDIA RTX SUPER in Mid-Range Market
Although AMD’s not doing too hot in terms of CPU gaming performance, they’re definitely doing really good in gaming benchmarks thanks to the price cuts that the Navi series GPUs received before they came out. The RX 5700 XT’s price was reduced to $399 and that means that it’s a direct competitor of the NVIDIA RTX 2060. The mid-range market is the biggest part of the GPU market as many gamers tend to purchase GPUs that are around $400. The AMD RX 5700 XT destroys the RTX 2060 SUPER in all gaming benchmarks.
The RX 5700 is priced at $349 which is an odd price point as everyone will be willing to spend $50 more and get the much more powerful RX 5700 XT. The RX 5700 doesn’t compete with any NVIDIA RTX SUPER GPU as it’s too weak to compete with the RTX 2060 SUPER and it costs too much to be compared to the GTX 1660 Ti. It’s not really clear who the RX 5700 was intended for.
