Have you ever noticed that your personal computer, gaming console, laptop or phone was producing heat while processing? Thats because Proccessing heats up the CPU. Qarnot  and AMD decided to use that heat to warm the buildings.

Qarnot has just recently announced the new Render engine. But What is the Qarnot and what is its Philosophy? Qarnot designed and operates the Q.rad, the first computing heater using embedded microprocessors from AMD as the heat sources. Totally silent, it gets computing commands and being controlled through the Internet. The heat produced by computing CPUs provide then free, green, easy and efficient heating for residential, office and public buildings. Qarnot offers a cloud computing service through a strong and well designed distributed infrastructure where computing is split throughout the whole city in the form of Q.rads. This is the unique and well thought out way to both getting back the wasted heat energy to the use of humans and helping consume less electricity or coil or… energies.

Qarnot claims that “The heat generated by all the data centers in the world  could already heat half of Europe’s households and doubles every 5 years.” Instead of designing the data centers and servers the traditional way, Qarnot distributes them within the whole city as heaters, computing remotely for companies and do two expensive tasks together. Qarnot is using the parallel processing on fast high-end CPUs from AMD. Qarnot is not only used by data processing costumers but also with 3D Rendering as rendering farms. Maybe someday hte same thing could work for Online high-en stream cloud gaming.
