AMD Zen 2 to Capture Gaming/Productivity Market From Intel (Latest Leaks)
Zen 2 Might Capture a Big Part of the Market From Intel
When AMD announced their Ryzen series CPUs, it blew away the competition. PC Enthusiasts were blown away by Ryzen’s Cinebench performance when compared to Intel CPUs around the same price. Although Ryzen was able to beat Intel in productivity benchmarks, Ryzen didn’t do that well in the gaming market. Intel CPUs outperformed Ryzen in gaming thanks to higher single-core performance. Fortunately for AMD, it seems like AMD Zen 2 is going to beat Intel in both the gaming and productivity market.
Zen 2 Latest Leaks and Benchmarks
Thanks to credible sources, we have a specs list for all AMD Zen 2 CPU. The Ryzen 3 3300, a $99 CPU is going to feature 6 cores and 12 threads! The $500 Ryzen 9 3850x is going to feature 16 cores and 32 threads! A 16 core CPU for only $500 is amazing.

AMD has also released official benchmarks for Zen 2 CPUs. According to AMD, the 8 core and 16 threads variant of Zen 2 was able to outperform the Intel Core I9-9900k. If the leaked specs list is true, AMD either benchmarked the Ryzen 3600 or Ryzen 3600X. Even if we assume the worst, AMD’s $229 CPU was able to outperform the $500 Intel Core I9-9900k. AMD said that the Zen CPU scored 2,057 on Cinebench R15 while the Core I9-9900k scored 2,040.
Zen 2 is Going to Capture the Market from Intel
If the specs list is true, Ryzen CPUs are going to feature high core numbers and high boost clocks. The problem with Ryzen and Zen+ was that they didn’t feature high clock scores so, Intel competitors did better in gaming benchmarks. AMD Zen 2 is going to feature high clock counts and boost clocks so, Intel doesn’t really stand a chance, The Core I9-9900k features 8 cores and 16 threads and it costs $500. The Ryzen 5 3600x is rumored to feature 8 cores and 16 threads but only cost $229.
