AMD Ryzen 2 and Navi Can Change Laptop Gaming

AMD Navi and Ryzen 2, are going to be the first 7nm chips when they come out in 2019. Right now, if you want to game on a laptop, you will either have to buy a very heavy laptop and game at 1080p ultra 60 fps or buy a light laptop that can game at 1080p medium around 60 FPS, but hank’s to AMD’s next-gen chips, gaming at 1080p, ultra, 60 FPS might be possible on a slim gaming laptop.

Why are AMD Navi and Ryzen 2 Good News for Laptop Gaming?

AMD Navi is expected to change the way we game as stated by AMD’s president and CEO, Gary Shapiro.

Shapiro said, “In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”

Ryzen 2, is going to be released in 2019 as well. According to AMD, Zen 2 will “Improve on Zen in multiple dimensions.”  A 7nm chip means that AMD Navi and Ryzen 2 are going to be much more power efficient than hardware available in the market right now. Thanks to their 7nm size, laptop manufactures can give less power to the chips but get more performance in return. This means that you might not have to carry around a 5-pound laptop just so you can triple-A games at decent settings.
