Intel’s 9th-gen CPUs To Compete With AMD’s 7nm Zen 2? (Specs and Release Date)
Will Intel’s 9th CPUs be Able to Compete With AMD’s 7nm CPUs?
Since AMD released Ryzen, Intel has been working hard to compete with AMD, and they have been pretty successful. Intel CPUs have been doing a lot better in gaming then AMD Ryzen thanks to Intel’s single-core performance. Right around the corner are the next-gen AMD and Intel CPUs and the question is will Intel be able to compete with AMD’s 7nm CPUs in gaming?
Intel 9th-gen CPU Specs and Release Date
Like every other year, Intel is going to release a wide verity of CPUs, but today, we are going to focus on the Intel Core i7-9700K. The i7-9700k is going to feature 8 cores/8 threads, a boost clock of 4.9GHz, a base clock of 3.6GHz, and 12MB cache. The i7-9700K will cost you around $380 which is right around the sweet spot for a gaming CPU. The Intel Core i7-9700K is going to be released on October 19 alongside the i9 9900K and i5 9600K.
AMD Zen 2 Specs
As of now, we don’t know much about AMD Zen 2. All we know is that it is going to be a 7nm CPU and come out sometime in 2019.
Gary Shapiro the CEO of Consumer Technology Association said, ““In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”
It seems like Intel is going to have some serious competition in the coming months as Zen 2 will be the first 7nm CPU to hit the market. Thank’s to its 7nm size Zen 2 will have better power efficiency than the competition giving it a significant advantage over Intel, especially in the laptop market.
