Apple iMac Pro With AMD VEGA Graphics Early Benchmarks

Now can estimate how fast and strong is the new apple desktop workhorse iMAC pro. based on the YouTube reviewers Marques Brownlee and Jonathan Morrison that released the hands-on videos of the iMac Pro and CPU performance reports with benchmarks on Geekbench. IMac pro has entry, mid-range and high-end levels. In both videos, the mid-range iMac Pro with a 10-core 3.0GHz Intel Xeon processor recorded a multi-core score of just over 37,400. That is 45 percent faster than 2013 high-end version Mac Pro’s average multi-core score of 25,747. The 10-core iMac Pro is also  93 % faster than the 27-inch 5K iMac with highest specs.  The 10-core Xeon also sports a solid base clock speed of 3.0GHz notably faster than the 14- or 18-core variants, and the fastest Turbo Boost speeds of all models up to 4.5GHz. So we can not exactly estimate the other CPU 18-core benchmark score. We attached here the Geekbench score of all the Desktop Xeon CPU score but always apple custom made chips have a bit of different performances.

Featuring up to 16GB of on-package high-bandwidth memory (HBM2), AMD Vega GPU with 11 Teraflops of single-precision compute power for real-time 3D rendering and high frame rate VR in pro application and for sure in gaming. iMac Pro also supports up to 4TB of SSD and up to 128GB of ECC memory, and with four Thunderbolt 3 ports, can connect to 2 x 5K displays at the same time. iMac Pro features a 10Gb Ethernet for up to 10 times faster networking than before in mac systems.

Apple has compared the Current release of Imac pro to the older versions of systems users have been using as follows:

  • 3D designers can visualize huge 3D models and render scenes up to 3.4 times faster.

  • Developers can run multiple virtual machines and test environments, and compile code up to 2.4 times faster.

  • Scientists and researchers can manipulate massive data sets and complex simulations, visualizing data up to 5 times faster.

  • Photographers can work with enormous files and perform image processing up to 4.1 times faster.

  • Music producers can bounce (export) massive multi-track projects up to 4.6 times faster and use up to 12.4 times as many real-time plug-ins.

  • Video editors can edit up to eight streams of 4K video, or edit 4.5K RED RAW video and 8K ProRes 4444 at full resolution in real time without rendering. The iMac Pro can also export HEVC video 3 times faster.
