Battlefield V is Basically Dead and EA Can’t Do Anything About it

The Battlefield game series was doing very well for a while thanks to Battlefield 1 which outsold its main competition Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare by a long shot and quickly became a fan favorite. At a time when gamers wanted a break from all of the shooters set in space, EA released a game set in world war 1 and Activision released a game set in space so, gamers naturally chose Battlefield 1 over COD Infinite Warfare. EA was hoping to continue the success with Battlefield V but that didn’t happen because the game was surrounded with a lot of controversies.

Battlefield V is Dying

As you can see in the graph below, when Battlefield V is compared to Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and GTA V in terms of google searches, Battlefield V does the worst. This issue is also present when you try to get into a multiplayer match on Battlefield V. Although the game was released less then a year ago, it may take you several minutes to get into a multiplayer match especially if you want to play “Firestorm” or one of the other unpopular multiplayer modes.

Battlefield V Died at Launch

When Battlefield V was released, the game received a lot of hate from gamers all around the world. The Battlefield series is known for making games that are somewhat historically accurate and when the reveal trailer featured a few female soldiers fighting in World War 2, some gamers got mad at EA for sacrificing historical accuracy for “Liberal Propaganda.” The other issue was the fact that EA greatly hyped up Battlefield V’s battle royale mode “Firestorm” but when EA released it gamers were very disappointed when they figured out that Firestorm was delayed for 4 months which made gamers to hate on Battlefield V even more.
