This is One of the Biggest Reasons for Battlefield V already failing and it’s 100% EA’s Fault (Opinion)

Battlefield V Hasn’t Been Doing Well in the Pre-order Department

The Battlefield series has recently been a close competitor to Activision’s Call of Duty mostly thanks to the failure of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare. The game was hated by fans as reflected by the 3.7 million dislikes that the reveal trailer received. It seems like the tables have turned as Battlefield V has become the hated FPS and Black Ops III has been getting a lot of love by gamers.

Since the first moment of Battlefield V’s reveal, the game has been received hated by thousands of players. The reveal trailer received 477k dislikes because it featured women fighting in the frontlines. Usualy Battlefield games are realistic, and that has become a big reason for players buying the games. The problem with Battlefield V’s reveal trailer was the fact that it during WW2 woman didn’t serve in the frontlines. Some players felt that a political agenda was being forced down their throat.

I believe that isn’t the only reason for Battlefield V’s failure. I went back and rewatched the game’s official reveal trailer and noticed a big problem. Even though the game is set in WW2, you don’t see anything that shows the game is set in World War II. If you go back and rewatch it, you will notice that there aren’t any visible swastika’s in the trailer! Usualy if you want to show that your game or movie is set in World War II, you will see Nazi flags and Swastikas everywhere, but in Battlefield V’s release trailer, you don’t even see Swastika. We don’t even know who the people in the trailer are fighting, and that’s not a good sign for a WWII game.

The other issue with the trailer is the fact that it just doesn’t make you excited for the game. Go and rewatch Battlefield 1’s reveal trailer, it’s epic. Thanks to the trenches and old looking weapons it’s evident that this is World War 1. The trailer starts with epic music and some guy being beaten to death with a club and an epic plane chase and then at the end, a blimp flying over a soldier with epic music in the background. The whole trailer consists of epic scenes. You get excited about the game. The trailer makes you feel like you are their, fighting in the trenches.

First, impressions are essential, and EA’s Battlefield V didn’t have a good first impression. It will be tough for EA to recover from that. If EA fails, Battlefield V will become the next Titanfall 2. Although the game was delayed, it is still reasonably close to the release of some of the biggest games of the year including Red Dead Redemption 2 and only a month after Spiderman.
