Can This $250 Android Tablet+Accessories Replace Your Laptop?

Apple has been trying really hard to get people to ditch their laptop for the iPad. If you only use your laptop for typing the iPad may be a good replacement but, the biggest issue is that the cheapest iPad that you can buy online will cost you $329 and, if you want a keyboard case you’ll have to spend at least another $100. This means that you’ll have to spend $429 but, if you pick up the Renewed Galaxy Tab S2 on Amazon for $220 and the keyboard case you’ll only have to shell out $246 overall. 

What Do You Do With Your Laptop?

To answer the question first, we’ll have to figure out what you do with your laptop. if you use your laptop for gaming and video editing, you wouldn’t be able to replace it with a tablet but, if you only use a laptop for typing, searching the web, and watching videos, you may be able to replace your laptop with a tablet. 

What Are the Advantages to a Tablet?

Although a tablet wouldn’t cost a lot, it still has a lot of advantages over a standard laptop. If you buy a $220 laptop, you wouldn’t have a good time. Any tabs that you open would instantly eat up all the ram which will make your laptop very slow. It will probably take about 2 minutes to open up any page on chrome with a $220 laptop. With a tablet, it wouldn’t be an issue to open up a few tabs in chrome and have some apps running in the background. 

Another advantage of having a tablet is that it’s a lot easier to move around than a laptop. A tablet with the keyboard case wouldn’t take up as much space as a laptop and, you would be able to throw it in your backpack. Also, you wouldn’t need to carry around a giant brick for charging. The good thing about this keyboard case is that you can take out the keyboard, set it on the table, and put the keyboard in front of you so that you can use it like a desktop. 

What are the Disadvantages?

Of course, with a tablet, you wouldn’t be able to open windows apps but, with a $200 laptop you wouldn’t be able to play any PC games or use apps that aren’t available on a tablet anyways. For most people that use a $200 PC, a tablet would be a good replacement. With a $200 PC, you’ll only be able to play really old games and surf the web.

The thing is that you can do all of that with a tablet. Of course, a laptop will probably have a bigger keyboard than a keyboard case and it’ll be easier to type with. This article was actually written on the tablet and it doesn’t feel as bad as you’d expect. Of course, if you want to do a lot of typing, you’ll have a hard time with the tablet.
