AMD Going to Do Really Well in 2020 With Zen 2 and Navi

Although AMD is doing a lot better than it was doing a few years back, they have a lot of potentials. Right now, AMD controls a small part of the GPU and CPU market but, it is rumored that AMD’s next-gen 7nm CPUs and GPUs are going to blow away the competition and give AMD a large part of the CPU and GPU market. 

AMD Navi Latest Information

Thanks to Sony, we know that PlayStation’s next-gen console is going to use AMD’s 7nm Navi GPU. The PlayStation 5 is said to be powerful enough to push 8k and it is said that it’ll cost around $500. This means that Navi is going to be very powerful as a $500 gaming consoles features a Navi GPU that is able to play tiple-A games at 4k with optimization. 

According to the latest rumors, the RX 3060 and RX 3070 are coming out in 2019 while the high-end Navi GPU, the RX 3080 is going to be released in 2020. The RX 3060 and RX 3070 are said to cost $129 and $200. Although these GPUs wouldn’t break the bank, the RX 3060 is rumored to be able to outperform the RX 580 and the RX 3070 is said to perform on par with the AMD Vega 56. It is said that the high-end RX 3080 Navi GPU is going to be able to deliver about the same performance as the Nvidia RTX 2070. 

AMD Zen 2 Latest Information

We also know that the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to feature an 8 core/16 threads Zen 2 CPU that further proves the leaked specs list below. A $500 gaming console’s CPU is probably going to feature a CPU that costs about $100 which means that the specs list below is probably really. AMD also gave official benchmark scores for an 8 core/16 threads variant of Zen 2 which scored 2,057 on Cinebench R15 while the Core I9-9900k scored 17 fewer points. This means that a $230 Zen 2 CPU is going to be able to outperform a $500 Intel CPU. If this seems unrealistic, just go back and look at Cinebench R15 scores for Ryzen when it came out a few years ago.
