PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds was the game that set off the battle royal boom. Thanks to PUBG, the battle royal genre became the most popular genre in the gaming market literally overnight. PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds is still massively popular on the PC, but it has many serious problems. PUBG has been steadily losing players on Steam because of the game’s performance issues on PC and lack of content when compared to Fortnite Battle Royal. PUBG was one of the first games to feature a 3D replay system, and that was very fun to use as it made it a lot easier to catch hackers and spectate matches for Esports.
Minkonet to integrate VR with PUBG’s 3D Replay System
In a recent interview that we had with Minkonet, they told us that they actually made a VR Demo for the 3D replay system.
Interviwer: “Do you have any plans to integrate your 3d replays system with VR headset platforms?”
“VP Service/Marketing” of Minkonet Ken Part Said,
“We thought VR market will come first with contents viewing and even expanded the idea for eSports usage, spectating eSports game in VR. Actually, we made a demo for that idea.
The idea still remains as one of major use case of 3D Replay. We are just waiting for the VR market to come.”
It will be entertaining to spectate PUBG matches in VR. It can put you right in the action and make you feel like you are actually in PUBG. VR gaming isn’t very popular right now as VR headsets cost a lot of money and your PC will have to be very powerful. Minkonet could integrate PUBG’s 3D Replay System with Google Card Board which will cost you $10 if you have a smartphone.
