Don’t Get Nvidia RTX GPUs, Wait for AMD Navi | Latest Leaks
AMD Navi Seems Very Exciting

RTX is arguably Nvidia’s most disappointing GPU series as they are overpriced and low-performing. When you compare RTX to last-gen cards around the same price point, there is a %10 performance gain. You’d usualy see a %30 performance gain in a new generation of GPUs but, that’s not the case with RTX. AMD is supposedly going to release a new generation of 7nm GPUs that can outperform all GPUs around the same price point by a wide margin.
AMD Navi Performance and Specs Leaks
Thanks to Videocardz and a credible Chinese site, we know that AMD is going to release three different Navi GPU series. The lower-end cards based on Navi 12 and Navi 10 are coming out in 2019 while the high-end cards based on Navi 20 are going to be released in 2020. AMD is going to release the RX 3060, RX 3070, and RX 3080 in 2019. The first two are going to be based on the Navi 12 architecture while the RX 3080 is going to be based on the Navi 10 architecture.
The AMD RX 3060 is going to come with 4Gb of GDDR6 RAM while the RX 3070 and RX 3080 are going to feature 8gb of GDDR6 RAM. The lower-end AMD Navi cards are going to feature a TDP of 75w and 120w while the RX 3080 is going to feature a TDP of 150w. The RX 3060 is going to perform like the RX 580, the RX 3070 is going to perform like Vega 56, and the RX 3080 is going to perform %15 better than Vega 64 or the Nvidia RTX 2070.
The RX 3060 is rumored to have an MSRP of $129.99, the RX 3070 is going to have an MSRP of $200, and the RX 3080 is going to have an MSRP of $250. These prices are extremely low considering that these cards can compete with GPUs that cost a lot more.
Navi Rumored to be a Few Months Away
AMD has confirmed that they are going to announce AMD Navi at CES 2019 on January 9. AMD usualy releases their hardware a bit after they announced them so, it’s very likely to see Navi 12 and Navi 10 in a month or two. This also correlates with a rumor that Navi is going to be released sometime in Q1 2019. The high-end Navi cards are rumored to be released at the beginning of 2020.
You Should Wait for AMD Navi
AMD Navi is likely a month or two away so, you should definitely wait for Navi. If you want to get a high-end $800+ GPU, you probably shouldn’t wait for Navi but, if you have a budget of $500 or less, you should wait. The RX 3080 is going to perform like the Nvidia RTX 2070 and it’s going to cost $250, half of the RTX 2070’s $500 price tag. If this rumor is true, its a total waste of money to purchase the RTX 2070 right now instead of waiting a month or two and saving $250. Even if you are on a low budget, you should wait. If the RX 3060 does perform like the RX 580 and costs $129.99, you’ll be saving at least $100.

With the advent of the RTX 2060 that supports
With the advent of the RTX 2060 that supports both DLSS along with Ray Tracing, and with performance that’s on par with the GTX 1070 TI, a gamer will get top notch performance. Personally I think AMD is in trouble from a capabilites viewpoint.
