Escape from Tarkov Trading: Tips & Tricks to Become the Best Trader

In a dynamic economy such as that of Escape from Tarkov and there’s even a possibility of you becoming a trader as well. We’re here to show you the ins and outs of trading in the game to help you learn how to earn money the most efficient and hassle-free way!

Deal with the Right Dealer

Each dealer specializes in a particular category of goods, whether it’s military gear, weapons, or meds. Though they do command lofty prices with their wares, you also have to consider that there’s value in what you’ll be receiving. Plus, you can build a reputation with each dealer through Quests, to reduce the commission they receive and grant you access to better offers. The Deals also offer additional services such as repairs and insurance, which allows you to recover your gear in case of death during a raid.

There are seven dealers in the game: Pavelwho sells weapons, Elvira who’s a therapist, Fence who buys and sells everything in the game, Alexander from the Customs,Tadeuszthat sells NATO weapons, Sergey the mechanic, and Abramyan who sells tactical rigs and armor. All of the traders here in Escape from Tarkov, except Fence, offer items for Barter as opposed to buying the items with money alone. These trades often allow players to obtain higher level gear at lower loyalty levels, enabling you to swap more affordable items for ones that are otherwise pricey.

What Items to Keep & Sell

If you’ve got a lot of loot items, trade them in to get more armor, guns, meds, and more from the dealers. Check with the traders for the exact offers as the higher the trader level, the more stuff you can trade in. However, most of the stuff can be sold straight away since loot items are just not worth the space in your stash. You don’t need to sell your items for more basic stuff that you can easily find on Scavs and players—with the exception of some very special items like high-end armor, special ammo, and grenades.

If you’ve got some gold chains and gas mask filters lying around, then you’re in luck! They’re pretty rare and hard to come by, so if you’re finally close to making it to the endgame, it’s best to just keep them.

Build a Reputation

If you want to be the talk of Tarkov, you have to build a solid reputation for yourself. Each player has a reputation that affects their number of offers and the view that other players have upon their offers. You can successfully gain reputation by completing deals, with every 100,000 gained from deals incrementing your reputation. However, your reputation will decrease whenever an offer is not fulfilled, and this includes removing your offers.Furthermore, your offer slots will increase upon reaching a certain reputation value and it’ll decrease if it drops from that value.

Make Use of the Flea Market

If you want to build up your reputation, you have to head to the Flea Market. The Flea Market is a complete collection of all player and AI trader offered exchange deals. The system works on an offer basis, allowing you, the merchant, to set up complex deals for others to take part in.

First off, you need to make an offer. Offers are exchange deals established by players or AI merchants, with the two players swapping items with one another. All items can be exchanged, and that includes currency. In order for you to start adding your own offers on the market, you first need to hit PMC level 5.

So that’s about it! That’s everything you need to know when it comes to Escape From Tarkov trading. Hopefully, you’ve picked up some valuable insights on how to be one of the top traders in the game.
