PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds isn’t Doing very Well

Both PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V took the gaming world by storm. PUBG was the first battle royal that got popular, it went from less than 100k concurrent players in a day to millions of concurrent players a day. Unfortunately for Bluehole, PUBG has been consistently losing players on Steam likely caused by the game’s performance issues and Fortnite Battle Royal. Grand Theft Auto, is the most popular game in the infamous GTA series. GTA V sold millions of units in its first weeks and thanks to Rockstar constantly adding new content to GTA Online; gamers keep coming back to the game.

GTA V is Going Strong After 5 Years

Grand Theft Auto is now more than five years old! Usually, after five years games lose players as gamers lose their interest but thanks to GTA Online, fans keep coming back. Even though the game is pretty old, it’s still getting thousands of concurrent players every day. According to SteamSpy, yesterday 58,944 gamers played Grand Theft Auto V at the same time on Steam alone. This means that thousands of gamers play GTA V across Steam, PC, Xbox One, and PS4 every day.

 PUBG is Losing Players

According to the latest statics on SteamSpy, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has lost a lot of the initial hype. Yesterday the maximum concurrent players on PUBG was 983,493. Almost one million concurrent players is really good but considering that it is PUBG, this is bad news. A few months ago, PUBG got more than two million concurrent players every day with an all-time peak of 3,226,027. Compared to the numbers PUBG reached every day a few months ago, one millions isn’t too well.

PUBG Corp has been working hard to fix PUBG and get players to return.

(put in quote) PUBG Corp wrote, “This is a phrase that we’ve been hearing a lot lately. Bugs, performance problems, and quality-of-life issues have been limiting PUBG’s true potential, and you want it fixed. So we think it’s time to do something about it. FIX PUBG” is a months-long campaign to deliver the changes and improvements that you’ve been asking for. We’ve created a roadmap with specific details about our plans, and we intend to update it as we go, checking things off as we deliver on our promises.”
