A Russian mod maker has included a mod in a GTA V mod that hijacked PCs to mine Monero cryptocurrency. This virus is dangerous, and more viruses are out there.

The mod was called Arbuz and security company WaterMiner discovered the mod was a virus. The virus was able to hide from apps such as task manager. You wouldn’t be able to see the virus in any monitoring app. If the virus realizes an app like task manager is open, it will stop working so you don’t see it. The creator of this virus was a Russian man called Anton. The company traced him because the hacker used bad track covering. His internet name Martin 0pc0d3r. According to WaterMiner, this hacker wasn’t experienced. Remember don’t download and install any random GTA V mod.

These viruses are very dangerous, and they could potentially allow a hacker to access your computer or phone completely. Hackers could steal all of your passwords saved on your PC, and they could even control your computer. Some hackers can turn on your webcam and look through it. Monero cryptocurrency viruses could destroy your CPU.

The virus used an exploit in Windows10. Microsoft released a patch that fixed that exploit. The virus spread from one computer to another from the internet or if they were on the same network. The virus encrypted the flies and made users pay $300 in Bitcoins to get it back. As of June 17, the hackers got $130,634.77 transferred to their acount. to this day we don’t know who the hackers are.
