GTX 1180 to Make Good Quality 4K PC Gaming Relatively Cheap

PC Gamers are going to be able to play 4K games with a GPU under $1000

Nvidia and AMD have been somewhat sharing the GPU market. Most of the time both AMD and Nvidia have GPUs with similair specs but usually AMD’s GPU’s cost less than Nvidia’s GPUs. We don’t know any rumors about AMD’s next-gen GPUs that are going to compete with Nvidia’s next-gen GPUs.  The GTX 1180 is expected to feature specs that are stronger then the Nvidia Titan XP but it is going to cost around $600. The GTX 1180 is expected to feature 3584 Cuda Cores, 16GB of VRAM, 1600MHz core clock, 1800MHz boost clock, 13 TFLOPS, 16 Gbps Memory Speed, and a TDP of 170 to 200 watts. With these specs, the GTX 1180 is going to be revolutionary for the gaming market as 4k gaming at ultra settings 60 FPS would finally become possible on a GPU that costs less than $1000.

There really isn’t a way to benchmark the GTX 1180 right now but we can guess it’s performance by looking at Titan XP’s performance. The Nvidia Titan XP features specs that are somewhat close to the Nvidia GTX 1180’s expected specs. On every benchmark, the GTX 1180 is expected to get a little bit more FPS then the Nvidia Titan XP.

According to benchmarks done by YouTuber DudeRandom84, the Nvidia Titan XP is able to run GTA V at the highest setting and 4k and the FPS almost always stayed above 60 FPS sometimes falling down to 45 FPS in high demanding areas. In the Witcher 3 with everything set at ultra settings and the game running at 4K it almost stayed at a smooth 60 FPS, falling down to the 50s in really intense scenes.

The Witcher 3 and GTA V are some of the hardest PC games to ru. With the Titan XP running them at 4k and getting a smooth experience the GTX 1180 is probably going to be able to easily always stay above 60 FPS in almost all PC games while running at 4k.
