Intel Gen.11 “Iris Plus” GPU Leaked | 1080p 60 FPS on an iGPU?

Intel Gen.11 iGPU Latest Rumors

Intel Sunny Cove

Although Intel controls most of the gaming market, AMD’s iGPUs are way more powerful than Intel’s more powerful iGPU or the UHD 630 graphics. With AMD’s Vega 11 iGPUs gamers are actually able to run some triple-A games at reasonable settings but, with Intel’s 630 you can’t really play any modern video games. If you follow the news, you have probably heard about Intel’s next-gen Sunny Cove CPUs which is going to feature Gen.11 GPU.

Gen.11 Benchmarks Leak Out

According to the latest rumors, Intel is going to release their next-gen iGPUs with Sunny Cove CPUs in 2019. The next-gen architecture known as Gen 11 has been designed to offer more than 1 teraflops of performance to gamers and it is going to feature more than double Gen 9’s performance. It is said that most of the performance gain is due to the fact that Gen.11 is going to feature much more execution units than Gen 9 with 64 Execution Units.

Now, let’s talk about benchmarks. As you can see in the image below, Gen 11 is able to perform up to 130% better than Gen 9 which is mind-blowing. Remember Gen 11 is most likely months away from release so, the benchmark scores are most likely going to improve by the time that it is released.

1080p 60 FPS Possible?

Intel’s next-gen iGPU is most likely not going to be able to do 1080p 60 FPS on the most recent triple-A games but, you’ll be able to do some light gaming. On Gen 11 iGPUs you may be able to run a game like Fortnite at 1080p medium-low settings and get about 60 FPS but, if you want to play something like GTA V you might have to go to 1080p low for playable frame rates. Of course, these are just rumors so take them with a grain of salt.
