Is the Nvidia GTX 1660TI the Turning Card We’ve Been Waiting For?

Nvidia’s latest GPU series based on the Turning architecture hasn’t been doing that well amongst gamers. It seems like Nvidia forgot about gamers when they were working on RTX GPUs. RTX series GPUs are extremely overpriced and right now, Nvidia doesn’t have any GPUs for budget gaming. The cheapest RTX GPU, the RTX 2060 will cost you $350. Many gamers complained that the RTX 2060 is overpriced for a 60 series cards and it seems like Nvidia listened as the GTX 1660TI may release relatively soon.

GTX 1660TI Latest Leaks

According to Videocarz, three sources claim that Nvidia is going to call the 60-series Turning card GTX 1660TI. Apparently, the GTX 1660TI is going be a GPU based on Turning architecture without the Ray Tracing cores. Thanks to the lack of RTX cores, the GTX 1660TI theoretically should cost less then RTX cards. Videocardz also claims that the GTX 1660TI is going to feature 1536 CUDA cores and 6GB of GDDR6 memory. The GTX 1660TI is supposedly going to be released when the GTX 1060 disappears from the market which should happen really soon. 

Is it the Turning Card for Budget Gamers?

Of course, a $250-$300 price tag is too much for gamers on a really low budget but, it should be the perfect card for 1080p 60FPS gaming. The 60 series cards are usualy the best cards for the price as they give gamers 1080p 60 FPS triple-A gaming for a relatively low price. Nvidia GTX 1660TI features 1536 Cuda Cores and the RTX 2060 features 1920 Cuda Cores so don’t expect to be able to get high-end gaming performance from this card. Of course, we have to wait and see the GTX 1660TI benchmarks.

Remember these are rumors so there is always a chance that they are completely false.
