If Nvidia didn’t Focus so Much on Ray Tracing, RTX Would’ve Done a lot Better in Gaming
Nvidia RTX GPUs are one of the most disappointing gaming GPU series that Nvidia has ever released. These GPUs are massive failures. The RTX 2080 performs a little better then the GTX 1080 TI but costs at least $100 more and if you buy a GTX 1080 TI used, you can save more then $200. The RTX 1080 TI performs a little better than the Nvidia Titan XP and costs a lot more. It seems like Nvidia has focused too much on Ray Tracing and forgot about us gamers.
Title 2 (bold): RTX is a big Disappointment
The Nvidia RTX GPUs don’t perform good enough for a new generation. As you can see, the RTX 2080 isn’t able to do 4K 60 FPS on every game. Considering that RTX is a new generation of GPUs, they certainly don’t perform like it. According to benchmarks, the Nvidia RTX 2080 performed a maximum of 12 FPS more than the GTX 1080 TI and the lowest being 4 average FPS more. Considering that the RTX 2080 costs at least $100 more than the GTX 1080 TI but performs a little better, it’s definitely a disappointment.
Title 2 (bold) Nvidia Focused too Much on Ray Tracing
If you go back and watch Nvidia’s presentation of the RTX series GPUs, you will notice that they really don’t talk about gaming at all. All of the presentation is Nvidia explaining Ray Tracing and saying how beautiful it will make your games look. Although RTX is a gaming GPU, we don’t even see benchmarks or a slid about RTX’s gaming performance. It seems like Nvidia got carried away with Ray Tracing and forgot about the real point of Nvidia RTX, gaming. Perhaps if Nvidia didn’t put so much of their resources into developing Ray Tracing, RTX would’ve performed a lot better right now.
If Nvidia had focused more on gaming performance, this article would’ve been really different. Everyone would’ve been talking about how for the first time, gamers can run every game at ultra 60+ FPS 4k with an $800 GPU.
