The Mad Box Gaming COnsole Might be a Cloud Gaming Console 

Everyone has been saying that streaming is the future and rumors have been suggesting that Microsoft’s next-gen console Scarlett Cloud, is going to be a streaming only console. Streaming allows manufacturers to reduce their prices. Companies can charge less than $100 for streaming consoles as it doesn’t cost a lot to make a streaming console. You might have heard about Mad Box, a console that is said to be able to run games at 4k 60 FPS. Well, the company’s CEO suggests that the Mad Box could be a streaming only console.

The Mad Box is Going to be Powerful 

Slightly Mad Studio’s CEO Ian Bell SMS Tweeted, “What is the Mad Box? It’s the most powerful console ever built… It’s literally ‘Mad’… You want 4k, you want VR at 60FPS? You want a full engine for free to develop your games on it? You have it.” He also said that the Mad Box will be able to run VR games at 90FPS per eye which means that it is going to be really powerful. The Mad Box seems like the perfect console for both games and developers.

The Mad Box is Going to be a Streaming Only Console

The company’s CEO has Tweeted a bunch of images (below) of their next-gen console. As you can see, the console is shaped like an’M’ and Ian Bell said that the Mad Box will be so light that it can be carried by a “one press deployable carry handle.” This means that the console is going to be really small and light. This suggests that the Mad Box is going to be a streaming only console. If the console had the specs to run games at 4k 60 FPS and, cost around $400, gamers wouldn’t be able to carry it around with a carrying handle.

The Mad Box is definitely going to be a cloud gaming console. For streaming, you wouldn’t need powerful hardware so you can easily fit it in a small and light chassis. It will be really hard to make servers that can deliver lag-free gaming without requiring super fast WIFI but, if they are able to do it, the competition woudn’t stand a chance.
