New Leaks, 7nm AMD Navi 20 and 7nm Nvidia Ampere GPUs Coming 2020

Hig-End Navi and 7nm Nvidia GPUs are Arriving in 2020

CES 2019 is only a few days away from being announced and hopefully released sometime in the same month. AMD is expected to announce their next-gen 7nm Navi GPUs. Nvidia is going to announce their lower-end RTX GPUs in CES 2019 as well. AMD is expected to capture the gaming market from Nvidia thanks to 7nm Navi GPUs. According to the latest rumors, Nvidia is going to release their 7nm GPU Series sometime in 2020.

The Higher-End AMD Navi GPUs Coming in 2020

AMD Navi is going to be the worlds first 7nm GPU series. AMD is going to release three different AMD Navi GPU series, Navi 10, Navi 12, and Navi 20. The lower-end Navi GPUs, the RX 3060, RX 3070, and RX 3080 (based on Navi 10 and Navi 12) are coming out in 2019. The AMD RX 3080 is going to be able to perform like the Nvidia RTX 2070 which is a bit disappointing as this means AMD isn’t going to enter the high-end gaming market in 2019. The higher-end Navi GPUs, Navi 20 is going to be released in 2020. All we know is that Navi 20 GPUs are going to be able to perform like the high-end Nvidia RTX GPUs.

Nvidia Ampere Coming in 2020

Nvidia is reportedly going to be using Samsung’s new 7nm extreme ultraviolet lithography (EUV) process for Ampere. Ampere is going to succeed the current Turing GPU architecture. Ampere is probably going to feature Ray Tracing. Let’s hope Nvidia optimizes Ray Tracing more in Ampere then they did with Turning. Even if Ampere doesn’t feature ray tracing, no one would really miss it as it just decreased performance and made games look a little bit better. The RTX 2080TI is able to run Battlefield V at 1440p 60 FPS with ray tracing enabled but, if you turn it off you can easily run Battlefield V at 4k ultra. Is it really worth it to go down to 1440p 60FPs from 4k 100FPS?
