Unfortunately, Metal Gear Survive will require gamers to be connected to the internet. The Xbox One and PS 4 versions of the game will need an internet connection too.

In the Metal Gear website, it says an online connection is required, and console users will need Xbox Live/PSN Plus for multiplayer. That made fans angry because not everyone has access to wifi all the time. The other reason that fans got angry was the game has a campaign mode it’s not a game that only has multiplayer. Konami is doing this to prevent piracy.  Konami isn’t the first company that uses this technic to prevent pirates from getting the game. Other companies such as Ubisoft used this technic on For Honor.

A few months ago a report was released that showed piracy helps video game sells. The EU commission paid €360,000 to study the impact piracy has on books, movies, music, and video games but they never released the report. According to the report, piracy helped video game sells but it hut blockbuster films sells. The EU never published the full report. They only released the part about how piracy affects film sells.
