New Benchmarks | AMD VEGA 64 LC Almost Matching Nvidia RTX 2080 GPU | Why Nvidia RTX series keep disappointing gamers?
We just heard that new Nvidia RTX 2070 is just slightly faster than GTX 1080, Disappointing results comparing the price for a whole new platform like touring. We had another benchmark on 2080 and 2080 ti and the high-end AMD gpus called vega 64 and 64 lc. In those benchmarks Nvidia 2080 is delivering just a few frames higher that the 64 lc with about 15 to 20 % more cost. For the 2070 3DMark Time Spy test: Nvidia’s RTX 2070 slightly faster than GTX 1080, 15%!!! The high-end Turing GPUs do not seem to be a great upgrade at all specially if you consider the price and the hype up for the last year. The ZOTAC RTX 2070 should cost around US$599, a stock GTX 1080, which is now priced at US$469!!! Ray Tracing is and DLSS might be a thing in the future, but right now 15% performance boost is just not satisfying.
It was just released days ago and the latest Nvidia GPU seems to be disappointing in many ways for gamers. It costs about 120$ to 150$ more than AMD high-end GPU released in late 2017 but the performance is almost matching and not impressive at all. In the new benchmarks released by Techspot a new list of GPUs were added to the benchmarks and we now can see where RTX 2080 and RTX 2080ti stand for gamers and It does not seem impressive at all. The average FPS difference in ultra quality 1440p gaming was only 6 frames and in 1080p only 4 frames between the two gpus while the new nvidia card price tag is about 15% to 20% more expensive and from the new GPU platform topping the pascal 10 series.
We used the ‘Ultra’ quality preset at 1080p, 1440p and 4K resolutions. Then as a bonus we’ve re-tested some of the current and previous generation mid-range GPUs along with some older models with the medium quality preset at 1080p. Along with a ton of different graphics cards, our test rig is comprised of a Core i7-8700K clocked at 5 GHz with 32GB of DDR4-3400 memory. For the Radeon GPUs we’re using Adrenalin Edition 18.9.3 and for the GeForce GPUs driver version 411.70. When looking at the more modern GPUs for 60 fps on average, all gamers require is a GTX 1060 6GB or RX 580, both delivered exceptional performance at 1080p, keeping frame rates above 60 fps at all times. techspot
