Nintendo has delayed Switch’s 64 GB cartridges

The Nintendo Switch was all the hype in 2017. Pretty much every gamer wanted to buy the Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch sold 10 million units in only 9 months exceeding Nintendo’s expectations by a lot. Nintendo expected the Switch to sell 8 million copies in its first fiscal year from April 2017 until March 2018. So when they said that the shortage issue was caused because the Switch exceeded expectations they weren’t lying. One of the problems with many other Nintendo consoles were triple A games. The Wii and the Wii U got a little bit of triple A support but it wasn’t enough to make gamers happy. Nintendo tried to fix that with the Nintendo Switch. It has gotten a lot better but many developers want 64GB Switch cartridges because their games don’t fit in Switch’s current cartridges. We heard about a 64 GB Switch cartridge but now we have heard that it has been delayed.

According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal Nintendo has delayed the 64 GB Nintendo Switch cartridges to 2019. According to the report Nintendo planned to release the 64 GB cartridges in the 2nd half of 2018 but now Nintendo has delayed the cartridges to 2019 because of “technical issues.” Nintendo Switch’s current cartridges can hold 32GB of data and that has been an issue for many developers. One of these developers is Bethesda. Because of the storage issue people that buy a physical copy of DOOM for the Nintendo Switch they have to download the multiplayer portion of the game. Gamers have to download 23GB of data to play DOOM’s multiplayer on the Switch. Rockstar’s first game in a Nintendo console in years L.A Noire has been affected by this problem too. When you buy a physical copy of L.A Noire for the Nintendo Switch you will have to download 14GB of data to play the game. The Nintendo Switch was released on March 3, 2017 and it costs $299.99. It is the first hybrid console seen in the market and it’s the first Nintendo console that is not region locked.
