Nintendo Switch sells 10 million units
The Switch has sold 10 million units
The Nintendo Switch has been doing very well. Many people thought that the Switch will fail horribly because of its hybrid design. Well fortunately for Nintendo the Switch did the exact opposite of what it did very good and became very successful. Sony has said that the PS 4 is competing with the Nintendo Switch. Many companies thought that the Switch would fail, so they didn’t port games to the Switch until they realized how successful it is. The Switch sold 2.74 million units in the first month of being in stores. Becuase of its shortage issues the Nintendo Switch couldn’t do very well but after it got better, the sales boomed.
Nintendo Tweeted out that the Nintendo Switch has sold 10 million units in only nine months. 10 million units in 9 months are really good considering that most other consoles aren’t close to 10 million units in only nine months. The Xbox One had a rocky launch so it only sold 7 million units in 10.5 months, the PS 3 sold 5.63 million copies in 10.5 months, Xbox 360 sold 5.9 million units in 10.5 months. Recently we heard that the PS 4 has become the 9th best selling console ever by selling 70.6 million units worldwide. When there was still a shortage issue even Nintendo said that the Switch was doing better than expected and they weren’t lying. Nintendo expected the Switch to sell 8 million copies in its first fiscal year April 2017 through March 2018. The Switch bypassed Nintendo’s goals by 2 million units three months earlier. Recently Capcom announced Street Fighter 30th anniversary edition for the Nintendo Switch, PS 4, and Xbox One. Street Fighter 30th anniversary edition will be released in May 2018 and it will include 12 classic Street Fighter games. Street Fighter 30th anniversary edition includes Super Street Fighter 2 The New Challengers, Street Fighter Alpha 3, Street Fighter 3, and much more.
Thanks to you, #NintendoSwitch has sold 10 million units worldwide in 9 months! Here’s to an amazing 2018! pic.twitter.com/wTuojUxE5h
