Nvidia’s latest GPU series, RTX hasn’t been that popular amongst gamers due to high prices and low-performance. The cheapest RTX card, the Nvidia RTX 2060 will cost you $350. That is a high price for a 60 series Nvidia GPU. Nvidia xx60 GPUs usualy cost $300 to $250 and can deliver 1080p ultra 60 FPS gaming in most triple-A games. Ray Tracing is the feature that causes RTX cards to cost so much. Without RTX, Nvidia can deliver lower-priced GPUs that deliver the same performance. 

GTX 1180 Benchmarks Spotted on GFXBench

Thanks to Videocardz, we have gotten our hands on supposed GTX 1180 benchmarks. This benchmarking software recognizes the GTX 1180 as the Nvidia RTX 2080 so this means that it is using the Turning architecture. The GTX 1180 and RTX 2080 benchmarks are really similair which is really good news for gamers. Without RTX, the GTX 1180 can cost you hundreds of Dollars less than the RTX 2080 but deliver the same amount of performance.

Can the GTX 1180 Beat AMD Navi?

AMD has already announced the high-end Vega GPU, the Vega VII. We also have official benchmarks that show the RTX 2080 and Vega VII are going to deliver the same performance to gamers. The AMD Vega VII is already somewhat loosing to the RTX 2080 so, the GTX 1180 will most likely be able to crush its competition. If it costs about $500 (the MSRP of past xx80 series GPUs) and performs like the RTX 2080, no one would go with AMD.

When is the GTX 1180 Coming Out? Is it Even Happening?

Unfortunatly, we don’t have an official release date or any rumors. The GTX 1180 is definitely really far from release. If Nvidia releases it right now, they will be competing with their own GPUs so, don’t expect it in the coming months. The GTX 1180 is most likely happening as we already know that Nvidia is going to release Turning based GTX GPUs.
