NVIDIA Is Making Cars Smarter With Xavier the Nvidia Drive platform by Developing AI In Auto Industry. Whether Cars drive themselves or become safety for driver, huge part of the auto industry is going to be dependent to software. The software maybe written by someone smart called human developers or maybe the software being developed and processing data by its own called AI. Future transportation industry is integrating itself with AI and AI based cars working with computers and controlled by them intelligently. Trucks and shuttles and training them using deep learning in the data centers is a big thing and for sure a lot of people will be out of their jobs and replaced by AI.

NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang on how the NVIDIA DRIVE provides this architecture for autonomous driving, he said:
“The future is surely a software defined car,” said Huang. “It will be a functional safe operating system, with incredible algorithms, and all kinds of applications built on top.”
“Every car company needs a scalable system they can leverage as the requirements grow,” he continued, as he showcased the work of NVIDIA R&D teams in teaching our own test vehicles to drive themselves — incorporating everything from sensor fusion, to AI and parallel computing, to recommending or taking action.
The name of the next generation of NVIDIA DRIVE is Xavier, Nvidia calls it:
“the world’s most complex system on a chip.”
“Xavier is coming out of the fab and we can’t wait to put in the hands of car companies and roboticists all over the world,” Huang said.
Xavier is to process sensor data from outside the cars and within the car, using deep neural and virtual networks on 360-degree surround perception along with adding eye tracking, gesture recognition and natural language understanding of the people to make the best decision and learn about all the active environment in and around cars while driving.
“AI is changing the way we interact with our cars,” Huang added. “It’s not only the experience outside of the car that will be revolutionized, but how we enjoy the car and how we interact with it will be transformed.”
