Blizzard Just Said Xbox One X Will Get Overwatch 4K Resolution Update
Blizzard told to WindowsCentral about their plans to implement 4K resolution for the Xbox One X version of Overwatch while praising Xbox one X the powerful hardware.
Overwatch team is excited with great possibilities Xbox One X opens. The team is currently exploring how the game experience can be enhanced on this platform to leverage the console’s incredible hardware, and is working on implementing 4K resolution in the game on Xbox One X. It is very important for the team to make sure the user interface looks natural on a truly big screen. We will share more details about our plans for 4K support on Xbox One X later.
Overwatch received PlayStation 4 support before this but strangely the 4K update turned to be only for the User Interface (UI) of the game not game play and the actual in-game resolution stayed at 1080P alnog with updates and improvements in Depth of Field (DoF) and Anisotropic Filtering (AF). Considering what happened in ps4 case, it remains unclear whether Overwatch on Xbox One X is to be in 1080P and the 4k upgrade is only for the user interfaces and menus.
By the way do not forget to join overwatch if you are not already a member in 17th Nov cause they are offering free gameplay for a limited period. The free period will begin on November 17 at 11:00 a.m. PT and end on November 20 at 11:59 p.m. PT in all participating regions across all platforms.
