Sea of Thieves is Slowly Dying and This is Why (Opinion)
Sea of Thieves has Been Consistently Losing Players

Sea of Thieves was one of Xbox One’s most promising exclusive titles. It was supposed to be a massive game in which players can team up with their friends and go on fun and entertaining adventures. Unfortunatly, Sea of Thieves wasn’t able to do that as players quickly got bored of the game. When Sea of Thieves first came out, gamers were very excited but, it didn’t have enough content to keep gamers entertained.
Sea of Thieves is Losing Players
Sea of Thieves isn’t doing very well in terms of player counts. Although we don’t have player counts, its obvious that Sea of Thieves is slowly dying. You can easily see this on the Sea of Thieves Discord server. Whenever a new DLC is released for the game, everyone comes on and tries out the new DLC but, after a few short days, the Discord server is basically a wasteland. Even when you join a game in Sea of Thieves, it’s not very easy to find other players in a server. There have been times when me and my friends had to explore the ocean for an hour before we saw another ship. This doesn’t only affect PVP. A lot of missions in Sea of Thieves will require you to work with other ships but, that’s not very easy when you can’t find anyone else.
Why is Sea of Thieves Loosing Players?
Sea of Thieves has a big problem. Sea of Thieves simply doesn’t have enough content to keep gamers entertained. If you jump into a game of Sea of Thieves, you’ll notice there really isn’t much to do. After about a month you wouldn’t have a lot to do in Sea of Thieves. Sea of Thieves also has many smaller but still big issues such as progression. Sea of Thieves doesn’t have a good progression system. The developers wanted an equal playing field for everyone so you can’t upgrade your ship or your weapons. Of course, you can buy cool cosmetic items but for many gamers, that’s not enough to give them the ambition to start grinding.
