VR gaming has been on the rise recently. Since Sony released the PlayStation VR for the PS 4, it became mainstream, Before it was just a PC gimmick that was too expensive but with the PS VR it became affordable. Right now you are able to pick up a PS VR headset for only $250 and a PS 4 will only cost you $300. When the Switch first came out there was some talk about Switch VR but that quickly died down. A recent rumor suggests that Nintendo is experimenting with VR.

Secret VR App Found on the Switch

A programmer who has been doing a lot of work with Nintendo homebrews random666_kys found a secret VR mode in the Switch. Apparently, while he was messing around with the Nintendo Switch he was able to find a VR app. When he launched the app we see two small texts reading “Please move the console away from your face and click the close button.” It looks exactly like a VR app. The screen is cut in half and it looks like its a VR game. The app didn’t do anything but it is obvious that Nintendo is working with VR. Why would they put a random VR app in the Switch if they aren’t experimenting with VR?

 

The Nintendo Switch is the Perfect VR Console

The Nintendo Switch could be the best console for VR. Nintendo can do something similair to the Google Cardboard or one of those $20 VR headsets for smartphones. You hold the joy cons in your hands and insert the Switch into the headset. If you want to play VR games on the PS 4 you will have to spend $250 but with the Switch, it could cost you as low as $20.
