Soon NVIDIA will release three GTX 16 series graphics cards, According to HardOCP sources

The 16: GTX 1660 Ti, GTX 1660 and GTX 1650, If the information by HardOCP is correct, new GPU series are called GeForce GTX 16. This whole series may be an economic sub brand to RTX series to compete with AMD low price strategy.

The 16: GTX 1660 Ti, GTX 1660 and GTX 1650, If HardOCP stands correct, then it is quite clear that the new series are called GeForce GTX 16. The GTX 1660 Ti, featuring 1536 CUDA cores is expected to launch on February 15th for around 279 USD. A cheaper variant featuring GDDR5 memory instead of GDDR6 and fewer cores (1280) called GTX 1660 non-Ti will launch in early March. This SKU is expected to cost 229 USD. Is this where GTX 16 series end. According to HardOCP, NVIDIA will launch GTX 1650 for 179 USD later, probably in late March. This would ultimately confirm that GTX Turing will stick to GTX 16XX naming schema. It may be an economic sub brand to RTX series to compete with AMD low price strategy.

We have received a word from a board partner about upcoming Turing-based GeForce graphics card.

The name is not yet fully confirmed, although we have heard it from two sources (three including the source of this picture).

The GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is to become NVIDIA’s first Turing-based card under GTX brand. Essentially, this card lacks ray tracing features of RTX series, which should (theoretically) result in a lower price.



New SKU features TU116 graphics processor and 1536 CUDA cores. This means that GTX 1660 Ti will undoubtedly be slower than RTX 2060.

On a contrary to some rumors, our sources claim that GTX 1660 Ti still features GDDR6 memory and a 192-bit bus. So far we have not heard anything about GDDR5(X) variants.

The launch date is not yet set. The new card is likely to be released as GTX 1060 series will fully disappear from the market, so probably not long from now.
