Super Mario Odyssey is very popular, and it got many near-perfect scores from game reviewers, so it’s the fastest selling Mario game ever. In its first week, it has sold very well, and it has beaten New Super Mario Bros. Wii. In the US alone Super Mario Odyssey sold 1.1 million copies, which makes it the fastest selling Mario game in the USA and the fastest selling Switch game. According to VGChartz as of Spe 16 2017, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sold 3.79 million copies total. Mario Odysee has reached 1.1 million sells in a week. It will definitely catch up and pass The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sales. Nintendo Tweeted:

According to VGChartz  Right now the most sold Mario game is Super Mario Bros DS with 29.81 million sales. New Super Mario Bros. Wii sold 28.40 million copies. The DS was around for a long time, and it sold a lot of units that why Super Mario Bros DS sold so much. New Super Mario Bros. U sold 5.48 million units. Super Mario Odyssey might not reach Mario Bros. DS and Wii, but it will become one of the best selling Mario games in history.

IGN gave Super Mario Odyssey a 10/10, a perfect score. IGN called it a “masterpiece”. Gamespot gave it a 10/10 and right now it has 97 on Metacritic. Reviewers aren’t the only people that love the game. Based on 1587 Ratings in Metacritic fans gave Super Mario Odyssey 9/10. The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild has 97 on Metacritic and fans gave it 1 8.4/10. Critics believe Odyssey will sell more than Zelda Breath of the Wii but not as much as Mario Bros. Wii.
