The eOneBook by Progress Technologies Featuring two E ink displays that fold out like a book, the device can only be used to read 18 volumes of Fist of the North Star for now.
E-readers are great for pro readers. they can basically run for weeks on a charge and can store thousands of books. Most E-readers are also affordable and good for low budgets between USD $50-100. Japanese-based Progress Technologies showed off the new eOneBook E-reader at CES 2018. before going to details there is one thing to mention, the device can only be used to read 18 volumes of the Manga Fist of the North Star. maybe for now, or maybe they are going to release an E-reader for every book, or maybe it is just the prototype for testing the market.
The eOneBook has a pretty design, good looks and is an innovative E-reader. It features two E ink displays that fold out like a book featuring navigation buttons on either side. The case of the device is also beautifully decorated with cover art from Fist of the North Star. Since the manga is stored as an E-book, users can also switch between Japanese and English translations at the touch of a button. While the eOneBook is very beautiful, it’s also very expensive for its market, Progress Technologies is going to sell the device for USD $300. A good thing to point out is that if you are really into the Manga Fist of the North Star, Not only does it save quite a bit of shelf space, it’s also one of the cheapest ways to get all the volumes together, single paperback volumes of the manga routinely price is $50 each.
Progress Technologies is also hoping to work with other publishers and bring more content-specific devices to market. It may actually be the main business model of what they do, to bring cheaper version of books that have a couple of volumes like harry potter.
