AMD New RoadMap Of New Ryzen CPUs and Vega GPUs

AMD detailed its road map and future plan for its new and next generation of technologies, high-performance computing and graphics products during ces 2018 in Las Vegas just before the opening of CES 2018. AMD announced that first desktop Ryzen processors with built-in Radeon Vega Graphics, AMD also announced the detailed plan of the full line up of Ryzen mobile APUs , the new Ryzen PRO and Ryzen 3 models. AMD also provided a first performance presentation of its new future 12nm 2nd generation Ryzen desktop CPU expected to launch in April 2018.

In graphics, AMD announced the expansion of the “Vega” graphics family with Radeon Vega Mobile versions and moving to7nm technology by its first 7nm product that is planned to be a Radeon “Vega” GPU that is specifically built for machine learning applications and ai to probably compete with Nvidia titan V.

“We successfully accomplished the ambitious goals we set for ourselves in 2017, reestablishing AMD as a high-performance computing leader with the introduction and ramp of 10 different product families,” said AMD President and CEO Dr. Lisa Su.

“We are building on this momentum in 2018 as we make our strongest product portfolio of the last decade even stronger with new CPUs and GPUs that bring more features and more performance to a broad set of markets.”

AMD also mentioned that Zen+ is coming by Q2 2018, AMD said a new version of its Ryzen CPU, the Zen+, would come in April 2018. the Zen+ will be using a new 12nm process instead of the current 14nm process. Zen 2 and Zen 3 roadmap for 2019 & 2020 were also released.  With Zen+ out in a close future, AMD said to expect Zen 2 in 2019 in a 7nm process and platform. A year later in 2020, Zen 3 will be out out using an improved 7nm+ process. With all that you can get that AMD is serious about regaining its reputation for fast chips.

“For us, it is all about high-performance computing,” said AMD CEO Lisa Su. “High-performance computing is absolutely the most exciting part of the semiconductor industry today.”
