The Omen X Compact Desktop proves that the VR gamingis the next big thing that is not still there yet but everybody see it coming. The Dock lets this PC be more versatile while keeping its options open as VR continues to mature. HP’s Omen X Compact in this generation, it’s branching out and HP is emphasizing how this new generation is up to date and designed for game specific needs. The $2,499 configuration will include Intel’s 7th-generation Kaby Lake mobile quad-core Core i7, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, a factory-overclocked GeForce GTX 1080 GPU, and a 1TB PCIe SSD.
If you add the optional $599 backpack harness, and you can convert the Omen X Compact Desktop into a full-on mobile VR gaming machine. The backpack comes with four batteries, a battery charging dock, and also set to work with HTC’s Vive. The price gets you the backpack straps, the vertical stand dock for easy switching between modes and four lithium ion batteries that can be hot-swapped for limitless VR time, thanks to a 50Whr battery within the PC itself. So it is really design to go VR on the move.
The interesting point about Omen X Compact is that HP has gone so far to design the whole thing only made for VR gaming. It is expensive and maybe low batteries, But the concept that we could have very efferent forms of PC gaming is and even generally PCs and even getting closer to Nintendo like concepts. The Omen X itself was a unique design for PC but the Omen X Compact is a huge step forward to that direction. We could have many sorts of design specific PCs and this could be the beginning by VR built PC.
