Wii owners will be able to purchase content from the Wii shop until Jan. 30, 2019. If you have Wii points, you’d better use it because, after March 26, 2018,  you wouldn’t be able to redeem your Wii shop points.

After some time Nintendo will, “be closing all services related to the Wii Shop Channel, including re-downloading purchased WiiWare, Virtual Console titles, and Wii Channels, as well as Wii System Transfer Tool, which transfers data from Wii to the Wii U system.” So if you want to re-download a game do it before the services go down.
