Will AMD/NVIDA GPUs Prices Go UP Again SOON? GPU Mining Again?

New Bitmain E3 ASIC Miner for Ethash and Ethereum, Does it worth buying now?

The value of these Ethereum ASICs from Bitmain has brought into question by the recent increase in the price. Does it worth to get one comparing to getting a rig with 6 or 7 graphic cards that are now near msrp price???  Now with asic pricing going up and ASICs losing value, the demand for GPUs could restart.

Maybe the main reason to get the new asic was the price, cause it is not offering a huge power consumption drop or massive hashrate. “The Ethereum ASIC we previewed from our Asia trip held three times performance improvements, but fresh price hikes have destroyed its value proposition,” Rolland says in a note to clients. “Initial specs for the $800 E3 rig offered over three times improvement over premium GPUs. However, in the weeks following, Bitmain discretely increased prices to $2,150, cutting price to performance by two-thirds… a non-starter.”  The decrease in cryptocurrency market demand for GPUs maybe was made by these new asic devices, essentially reversed the market share that was expected to be taken from AMD and Nvidia by ASIC miners. Nvidia recently announced an expected 67% drop in cryptocurrency revenue for Q2 2018 – that equates to $190 million in lost revenue.

In the next ETH update the rewards will be reduced and that also makes it harder to decide if the asic devices worth buying. This is also expected to eventually render graphics card mining almost entirely obsolete. ASICs do not have a back sale option and you can not really sell the used ones for much, basically cause they can not do anything else unlike GPUs.  Now with asic pricing going up and ASICs losing value, the demand for GPUs could restart at least till the next updates from coins developers.
