A while back game streaming services similair to Netflix started getting a bit popular as two of the worlds biggest gaming companies, Sony and Nvidia released game streaming services bu,t both of their attempts failed. Microsoft took their time and it seems like they’re going to release xCloud on the Nintendo Switch really soon which means that Switch users will be able to stream selected Xbox games if they have wifi.

According to Direct-Feed Games and GameInformer’s Imran Khan, Xbox Game Pass is Coming to the Nintendo Switch. Keep in mind that this rumor was first reported by Direct-Feed and later backed up by Game Informer’s Imran Khan. ResetEra user NateDrake who runs Direct-Feed games stated that Xbox Game Pass games may use xCloud to run on the Switch.

NateDrake wrote, “It is my understanding GamePass/xCloud for Switch may be one in the same — as in GamePass will use xCloud to bring the software to the system, but not 100% on that.”

As Game Pass Switch was confirmed by GameInformer, it’s most likely happening but, it’s not clear if it’ll use game streaming or not. If Microsoft wants to port over their bigger Xbox titles they’ll definitely have to use game streaming as the Nintendo Switch is a very weak gaming machine,

xCloud Coming to Mobile?

When Microsoft introduced project xCloud back in 2018, we were told that it is going to allow gamers to stream their favorite Xbox games on their very own smartphones and we actually saw live gameplay. If Microsoft is ready to launch xCloud on the Switch in the coming months, then they are probably to launch it on smartphones. If Microsoft is able to pull this off, you’ll be able to play a game like Gears of War 4 on your phone with an Xbox control connected through Bluetooth.
