14nm Intel CPU + AMD Radeon RX Vega Graphics: Core i7-8809G with 3.1 GHz Specs
Do you remember we reported a while ago about the new AMD-Intel Deal? Well one of the possible results of that deal is just released. Intel revealed details of the new CPU called Core i7-8809G . It is fast and strong while not being too low powered and still in 14 nm technology.
The Intel Core i7-8809G is a fast quad-core processor for notebooks based on the Kaby Lake architecture and was announced in January 2018. similar to the Core i7-7920HQ it integrates four processor cores, 8709G would come with a Turbo up to 3.9 GHz, the base clock thus 3.1 GHz. (Turbo not yet officially published). The CPU is still produced in 14nm as the i7-7920HQ. Compared to the i7-7920HQ, the i7-8809G may be slightly faster due to the HBM2 memory. As a specialty the CPU pack also contains a Vega based graphics card from AMD and 4 GB HBM2 graphics memory. The CPU is still produced in 14nm as the i7-7920HQ. Compared to the i7-7920HQ, the i7-8809G may be slightly faster due to the HBM2 memory. Intel basically uses the same micro architecture compared to Skylake, so the per-MHz performance does not differ.
