New Nvidia driver performance boost for PUBG, Final Fantasy XV, and more

The new Nvidia driver will boost performance in many games

Nvidia has already released a driver that optimizes PUBG but PUBG still doesn’t run very well. A pretty good PC will notice frequent lag and frame rate drops. Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds is one of the few unoptimized PC games that are very popular. Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is going to be released on 3/6/2018 but Nvidia has already released a driver for the game. The driver makes sense considering that Square Enix worked with Nvidia on Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition so gamers will probably get better results with a Nvidia GPU or an AMD GPU.

In the new driver gamers can get up to a 7% performance increase in PUBG. in 1920x1080p a GTX 1050 gets 7% performance increase, GTX 1060 3GB/6GB gets 5% performance increase, gets 5% performance increase, GTX 1070 TI gets 4% performance increase, GTX 1080 gets 3% performance increase, and GTX 1080 TI gets 5% performance increase. In 1440p a GTX 1060 3GB/6GB gets 6% performance increase, GTX 1070/1070Ti gets 5% performance increase, GTX 1080 gets 7% performance increase, and GTX 1080 TI gets 5% performance increase. At 4k GTX 1070/1070 TI get 6% performance increase, GTX 1080/1080TI gets 7% performance increase. Nvidia tested the game with a Intel Core i7-7820X 3.6GHz, 32GB DDR4 2666, Windows 10. 

The new update has fixed many other issues such as shadows flickering issue in Call of Duty WW2, multi-monitor systems get blakc screen when booted from a cold boot, shutdown time increased when Stereoscopic 3D enabled, when mapping a buffer object in OpenGL program with GTX 980/1080 Ti program might’ve crashed, and GTX 965M GPU performance decreased. Nvidia also added/updated 3D Vision profiles Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is not recommended, Surviving Mars is good, Switchblade is not recommended, Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is fair. 

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition is going to be released on March 6th and it features upgraded visuals and some modding tools for PC gamers. According to the game’s developer, it is a generation ahead of console versions.
