Intel Has to Step Up Their Game to Catch Up to AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 CPU Coming Out in 2019
Intel is Having Issues With 10nm CPU Production

Intel (INTC) & Potential Financial Impact Of CPU Flaws, Meltdown/Spectre
Since AMD release Ryzen 7 CPUs Intel has been having a tough time competing with AMD. When AMD released their Ryzen CPUs, Intel stepped up their game and released their 6 core CPUs earlier than originally planned to compete with Ryzen. It seems like AMD is going to change the gaming scene for the second time thanks to their 7nm gaming CPUs.
AMD Zen 2 Coming Out in 2019
Thanks to AMD themselves, we know that the worlds first 7nm CPU, Zen 2 is going to be released in 2019. Although we don’t have an exact release date, we do know when AMD is going to announce it. Zen 2 is going to be announced by AMD’s CEO at CES 2019 on Wednesday, January 9 at 9:00 AM in the Venetian Palazzo Ballroom.
“In 2019, AMD will catapult computing, gaming, and visualization technologies forward with the world’s first 7nm high-performance CPUs and GPUs, providing the power required to reach technology’s next horizon. During her CES keynote, Dr. Su and guests will provide a view into the diverse applications for new computing technologies ranging from solving some of the world’s toughest challenges to the future of gaming, entertainment and virtual reality with the potential to redefine modern life.”
Intel Having Production Issues with Next-Gen 10nm CPU
Recently rumors quickly started going around the internet claiming that Intel has canned their 10nm CPUs because of numerous production issues. Intel quickly responded to rumors on Twitter saying, “Media reports published today that Intel is ending work on the 10nm process are untrue. We are making good progress on 10nm. Yields are improving consistent with the timeline we shared during our last earnings report.” This is bad news as production issues could cause a delay and supply issues.
Intel Has to Step Up Thier Game to Catch Up to AMD
Although right now Intel might be doing better then AMD, in the long term it seems like things are better for AMD. Thanks to its 7nm CPU architecture it will be more power efficient than Intel CPUs available in the game market giving it a big lead over Intel in the portable gaming market. Intel is having production issues and Zen 2 is coming out next year so, things don’t look too well for Intel
