Red Dead Redemption 2 is the latest game in the Red Dead Redemption series. The first game became a critical success selling millions of units on the Xbox 360 and PS 3. Gamers quickly fell in love with Red Dead Redemption thanks to its western and somewhat realistic settings. Thanks to GTA Online, Rockstar was able to keep gamers engaged and get thousands of new players to buy GTA every month 5 years after release. Rockstar recently released the beta mode for Red Dead 2 Online but the economy is broken.

Red Dead 2 Online’s Economy is Broken

Most gamers still aren’t done with Red Dead Redemption 2’s single-player mode but for those who are or just bored, Rockstar has released Red Dead Online. Red Dead Online has a massive issue. If you go to Reddit, you will see that gamers are having a lot of issues with Red Dead 2 Online’s economy. Items in Red Dead Online cost a lot more then they do in Red Dead Redemption 2 single-player but, the amount of money that gamers earn is the same or decreased in Red Dead Online. Red Dead 2 Online is just like real life. To live in it you will have to spend money. Unless you really grind, you will have very little money left over after you refill your ammo and pay for your camp. The whole economy is broken. It takes way too long to buy a good and powerful weapon and pay to maintain your camp. Don’t even get me started on cosmetics.

Red Dead Online Will Likely Get Pay to Win Similair to Shark Cards

Take-Two’s Interactive chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick says that revenue from microtransactions is a big chunk of their profits. “We’ve said that we aim to have recurrent consumer spending opportunities for every title that we put out at this company. It may not always be an online model, it probably won’t always be a virtual currency model, but there will be some ability to engage in an ongoing basis with our titles after release across the board.” Although Red Online already has microtransactions, it’s nothing similair to GTA Online’s shark cards. Rockstar will most likely release something similair to shark cards for Red Dead Online to get gamers to spend more money.
