The Lower-End Nvidia RTX GPUs Might be the Ones That Will Save RTX
Nvidia’s Lower-End RTX GPUs Might not Be as Disappointing as the High-End RTX GPUs
Nvidia’s 1000-series graphics cards weren’t anything special. They performed about 30% better than last-gen cards around the same price point and that was basically it. Unfortunatly for Nvidia, RTX was special in a bad way. Nvidia RTX is extremely disappointing as it performed about 15% better than last-gen cards around the same price point. Although the higher-end Nvidia GPUs are disappointing, the lower-end versions may be the GPUs that save RTX.
Nvidia RTX 2060 Leaked Benchmarks
Although we don’t have any official scores from Nvidia themselves, RTX 2060 benchmarks have been found on Final Fantasy’s benchmark page. Of course, this could be someone trolling but most of the time benchmarks on Final Fantasy’s benchmark page are real. The RTX 2060 didn’t too well on the test as it only scored 2589 and that isn’t very good as the Nvidia GTX 1070 scored higher than the RTX 2060. The chances of the RTX 2060 not even being as powerful as the GTX 1070 are extremely slim so there is some speculation going around that this is the leaked score of the RTX 2060 Max-Q Variant. The Max-Q Variant of the GTX 1070 scored 2270. If this isn’t for the Max-Q variant of the RTX 2060, it’s most likely fake.
The Lower-End Nvidia RTX GPUs Maybe the GPUs That’ll Save RTX
One of the reasons for the higher-end Nvidia RTX GPUs being so expensive is ray tracing. Nvidia had to do a lot of research and spend a lot of money to allow RTX to use real-time ray tracing. Fortunately, the lower-end Nvidia RTX GPUs aren’t going to feature ray tracing so they probably wouldn’t cost that much. The lower-end RTX cards will likely do about 30% better than last-gen cards around the same price point.
