PoE to Be Delayed Until 2019 for PS4: Why PoE Matters for PS4

Sadly, Grinding Gears Games had to delay the much-anticipated release of Path of Exile from last December to early February of this year. This stall in the release was implemented due to certification.

For those of you who know don’t know what certification is, it is the approval process that all video games need to go through for them to be able to launch on consoles from the first-parties such as Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Apparently, Grinding Gears Games underestimated the amount of work it would take to finish the certification process during the particularly busy Christmas period.

Many PlayStation users were keen to play Betrayal over Christmas and have since been eagerly waiting for the latest about the massively popular RPG. This is particularly true because was set to make its PS4 debut alongside its “largest expansion” thus far.  Path of Exile continues to hold a firm grip on the free-to-play action RPG genre. This is evident in the fact that tens of thousands of players are hooked on it via Steam. It launched first in October 2013, with the Xbox version coming out on August 2017. Hopefully, as it makes its way onto the PS4 platform, things will get easier for players to get PoE Items, PoE currency, and PoE Orbs.

Will PoE Work Out on the PS4?

Many thought it wouldn’t be possible to port Path of Exile and make it work like the PC version, but Grinding Gears Games did just that. They’ve managed to redesign the game to adjust to the likings of PS4 players and its dual-shock controller schemes. Path of Exile is a great game and refreshing to see compared to those soccer-mom movie games that you’d normally see on the PlayStation Network Store. Poe is a game that captivates solo players , but its co-op feature further elevates the experience as it is best played with friends. For thePoE trading, we can hope that the folks over Grinding Gears Games will make it easier for the players to trade in the game as opposed to on the PC.

Should the PS4 Push Through with Path of Exile?

Besides Path of Exile being an overall great game, another reason why it needs to be on the PS4 is to make the gamers think that not all free-to-play games are bad and that they can offer as much content as a triple A title can—if not more!Games that defied all thestereotypes of what a free-to-play game should be like Fortnite, Paladins, Smite, and Warframe are consistently pumping out content for their own respective audiences, and Path of Exile deserves to be part of that elite company as it isstill being played by thousands—if not millions—of gamers today.

People need to be reminded that not every gaming series is hopping on the bandwagon and delving into mobile territory (we’re looking at you Blizzard). Path of Exile has received numerous expansions that have apparently made it a worthwhile reason to continue playing to this very day. Grinding Gear Games’ developers are really active when it comes to updating the game on a regular basis by adding new features, introducing new patches and balancing skills.

Does Path of Exile Belong to the PS4?

Path of Exile is a theory crafter’s dream come true, the kind of game with seemingly endless ways to build and optimize your ideal character. It’s a huge game to try and comprehend, much like Warframe. There are dozens of systems to learn, but it rewards you greatly for the time you spend. The game stresses on exploration and loot collection of combat with a little bit MMO elements here and there, such as public towns in which players can meet and group up or trade PoE Items. The combat feels tight, with lots of variation between different character classes.

Another reason why Path of Exile should be on your list of games to play in 2019 on the PS4 is that it’s designed to be completelyfree-to-play! There are no XP boosters or premium weapons to buy, so everyone advances through the game at the same basic rate. With loads of characters, areas to explore, and gameplay depth, Path of Exile is one free game that every RPG fan needs to try on their PS4 console.
