AMD Zen 2 7nm Next-Gen CPU to Blow Away the Competition

AMD Zen 2 Latest Leaks and Rumors

When AMD announced Ryzen a few years ago it absolutely blew away Intel in productivity benchmarks. Ryzen did so well that Intel was forced to release their 6 core CPUs way earlier than planned. Rumors were going around the internet claiming that AMD Zen 2 is going to be able to easily blow away Intel CPUs in both the low-end and high-end market.

AMD Zen 2 Leaked Specs List and Official Benchmarks

Thanks to the latest rumors around the internet, we have gotten our hands on a specs list for AMD Zen 2 which shows that Zen 2 is going to blow away all Intel CPUs. If the specs list is true, a $500 AMD Zen 2 CPU is going to be able to outperform a $1700 Intel CPU.

Thanks to AMD themselves, we have gotten our hands on official benchmark scores for an 8 core/16 threads variant of Zen 2. Unfortunately, AMD didn’t tell us the price for the AMD Zen 2 CPU used in this benchmarks. We don’t even have clock speeds but, AMD did provide the power consumption. Apparently, the AMD Zen 2 scored 2,057 on Cinebench R15 while the $500 Intel Core I9-9900k only scored 2,040. The benchmarks were done on identical systems and the Zen 2 used 130w of power while the Core I9 system used 180w of power. If this rumor is true, a $229 CPU is going to be able to outperform Intel’s $500 Core I9-9900k.

The best part about AMD Zen 2 is the fact that it’s supposedly going to use the same chipset as Zen+ CPUs which means that you’ll easily be able to upgrade to Zen 2 from your current Ryzen CPU. Also, thanks to Zen 2’s 7nm architecture, it’ll use way less power than competing Intel CPUs hence Zen 2 will likely have more overclocking potential.
