The Next-Gen PlayStation 5 Rumored to be Very Powerful

The Microsoft Xbox One X is quite powerful for a $500 gaming console as it is able to run the latest games at 4k and still get playable frame rates. If you want to play the latest games at 4k on a PC and get 30 FPS you’ll need to spend way more than $500. The PS 5 is rumored to be two times more powerful than the Xbox One X which means that with proper optimization, gamers may be able to play the latest triple-A titles at 4k 60 FPS on a console that costs about $500!

Sony PlayStation 5 | Official Specs

Although we have gotten a lot of official intormation about PS 5, we don’t have a lot of specific information. Mark Cerny, the lead system architect for the PS4 says that the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to be a major step up from from the PS 4. It is said that the PlayStation 5 is going to feature an 8 core/16 threads next-gen 7nm AMD Zen 2 CPU and a costume 7nm AMD Navi GPU. The PS 5 is also going to feature Ray Tracing, which is an Nvidia exclusive technology right now. This also shows that the PS 5 is going to be very powerful as Ray Tracing needs a lot of power. The PS 5 is going to be the first gaming console to feature an SSD. In fact, the SSD is said to be faster then any SSD available on PC right now. According to Wired, fast traveling in Spider-Man went from 15 seconds on the PS 4 to 0.8 seconds on an early PS 5 dev kit. 

PlayStation 5 Leaked Specs

The leaked specs are very similair to the official information we have gotten but, the leaked specs go into more details. The leaked specs claim that the PS 5 is going to feature an 8 core/16 threads AMD Zen 2 and Navi as well but, it is said that the AMD Navi GPU is going to feature 12 TFLOPs of performance.

PS 5 2X More Powerful Than Xbox One X

The Xbox One X features an AMD integrated GPU that features 6 Tflops of performance this means that the PS 5’s GPU is at least going to be 2x more powerful than the Xbox One X. The Xbox One X and PS 4 Pro are both held back by their outdated CPUs but, this isn’t going to be the case with the PS 5 thanks to it’s 7nm 8 core/16 threads Zen 2 CPU. With proper optimization, the PS 5 may be able to run the latest triple-A games at 4k 60 FPS!
