All You Need to Know About the Next-Generation Sony PlayStation | PS 5 Specs, Price, Release Date, PSVR 2

The PS 5 is Going to be Powerful

PS 5, PlayStation 5

The Sony PlayStation 4 was the most successful console of this generation as it’s competitors, the Xbox One and Wii U both failed miserably at launch. The PS 4 is also the only console that features a VR headset and that gives it a big advantage over the competitors as the PS 4 plus the PSVR headset will run you $600 in total while a gaming PC plus a VR headset will cost somewhere around $1000 in total. The PS 4 also features a great selection of games that everyone loves and it seems like Sony will continue this tradition with the PlayStation 5 which will be very powerful.

Rumored Specs

According to Sony themselves, we know that the Sony PlayStation 5 is going to be using AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU and this means that the console is going to be very powerful. It is also confirmed by Sony themselves that we are going to see Ray Tracing on the PS 5 which means that it will be pretty powerful. If you follow gaming news, you probably know that real-time Ray Tracing takes a lot of computing power. The PS 4 Pro was held back by the console’s weak CPU but, this isn’t going to be the case with the PS 5.

Thanks to Official news from Sony themselves we also know that the PS 5 is going to feature a very fast SSD which is very surprising as consoles usually feature old and slow Hard Drives. According to Sony, the PS 5’s SSD is going to be faster then any SSD that you can buy for your PC right now which is very surprising.

Price and Release Date

Unfortunately, we don’t have any official news on the PS 5’s release date but, there are rumors which claim that the console is going to be released sometime in 2020. PS 5 is rumored to cost somewhere around $400. Sony wouldn’t want to repeat the same mistake as they did with the PlayStation 3 which flopped because of the console’s high price point.

PSVR 2

According to an exclusive leak that we recently got our hands-on, the next-gen PlayStation VR headset is going to be very revelutionary for the VR market as it’s going to be completely wireless and it’ll feature new controllers that will be able to compete with the Oculus Touch.  For more information, you can read our article on the new PSVR 2 leak.

source that described him/her self as someone from Sony design centers, has informed us that the next-gen PSVR headset is going to be fully wireless and they supported their claim with an image which you can see below. The claim and the image seem to be real and believable since going wireless and stand alone is the next standard basing in VR headset industry. But take this leak with some grain of salt, we have not a clear history of approved leaks from the source, so time will tell how accurate it is. And the design seems to be in development stage that may be old or recent in design processes but in this stage things tend to change and Sony may or may not go with it.
