AMD Releases New Update for Adrenalin 18.1.1 Driver To Fix DirectX 9 Issues

The Adrenalin 18.1.1 driver will be available via AMD’s website.

AMD just released a new version of the Radeon driver Adrenalin 18.1.1.that made some radeon users suffer from PC stability issues after installation. The main intention of this driver release is the fix for crashing DX9 games. The issue was made by the last version the Adrenalin 17.12.1. AMD very quickly released an alpha hotfix to address the issue after it was discovered, but the fix is coming officially in this driver as well.

More history on Adrenalin:   This Is a Major driver project that is officially being called Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition via the AMD’s formal announcement at the end of last month. Radeon RX 480 show great increase rather than Vega. Which shows that AMD hasn’t suddenly forget Polaris simply because Vega came out. This should probably make all Polaris owners very happy.  AMD is now launching the all new Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition as a holiday gift to AMD Radeon users. Adrenalin Edition is the company’s latest update to Radeon Software and is the fourth major installment to the company’s GPU drivers since it began a yearly tradition back in 2014 of doing a major driver release at the end of every year.

what is Adrenalin all about? Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition is about making Radeon Software more accessible, more shared experience, good for game streamers and spectators. Through social-minded updates to Radeon Settings, a globally-available Radeon Overlay, and a brand-new mobile app called AMD Link. beside all these AMD boosted the performance for up to 19%.

Solved Issues List From AMD in the most recent update:

  • A small number of DirectX 9 games may experience crashes or instability.

  • Radeon FreeSync enabled system configurations may experience stuttering when using the performance metrics feature in Radeon Overlay.

  • Protected video content may intermittently experience a freeze or hang during playback.

  • A blank screen may be experienced while playing back videos when using Movies & TV player.

  • StarCraft II may experience corruption in multi GPU enabled system configurations.

  • Bezel compensation controls when creating display groups may be misaligned or have no functionality.

  • Blank videos may be experienced when playing back videos in edge browser after the system resumes from sleep.

  • Color corruption may intermittently be observed in Radeon overlay with multiple gaming applications and performance metrics running.

  • The Radeon WattMan fan slider may intermittently fail to change after loading profiles.

  • Enhanced Sync may not enable for game profiles in Radeon Settings when using Vulkan API.

  • On multi GPU enabled system configurations PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds may experience menu item flickering.

  • CLINFO may report incorrect values in multi GPU system configurations.
